Director Vivek Agnihotri shared how just hours after filing the Tashkent agreement former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri passed away. While speaking to news agency PTI, he said: “On January 10, 1966, Shastri had signed the Tashkent Agreement and hours later he died.

A death mystery unsolved to date. Was it a heart attack or poison? The truth of the biggest coverup has been denied to his family and us.”

Vivek Agnihotri is bringing the story to the silver screens and it has certainly created an eagerness to see how the movie would pan out. Prior to the movie’s release, the movie makers released the official trailer today, which is garnering massive response on social media.

The movie stars Naseeruddin Shah as PKR Natrajan, Pallavi Joshi as Aiysha Ali Shah, Pankaj Tripathi as Gangaram Jha, Shweta Basu Prasad as Raagini Phule, Mithun Chakraborty as Shyam Sundar Tripathi, Vinay Pathak, Mandira Bedi, Ankur Rathee and Prakash Belawadi steal the spotlight.

‘The Tashkent Files’ shows about mysterious circumstances revolving the death of the late Prime Minister, where the reason for his demise till date is not solved and is seen as a mystery and the movie is expected to hit the screens on April 12.
