The former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir will be starting new innings as he has joined BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. Previously, there was widespread speculation that Gambhir would join BJP but now that it has become true as Finance Minister Arun Jaitley confirmed the news while addressing the reporters at the press conference.
Gambhir now hopes to live up to BJP’s expectations and it would be quite interesting to see how he would perform in the political field. He even admitted that he is very well impressed by PM Narendra Modi’s vision for India. “I have been influenced by the PM, his vision for the country. This is a fabulous platform for me to do something for the country,” Gautam Gambhir said.
He has always chipped in with bold opinions about his political views especially on our India’s stand on terrorism including cricketing ties with neighbours.
“Former Cricketer @GautamGambhir joins BJP in the presence of Union Ministers Shri @arunjaitley and Shri @rsprasad,” BJP wrote on their official Twitter handle.
