Previously in the day, BJP asked Goa BJP MLAs to not leave the state with reports that state Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s health was deteriorating (especially in the last two days)

India lost an honest, educated and patriotic leader. Mr. Parrikar is a down-to-earth person and his absence is now a huge loss for the nation. He served his country till his last breath. He had been in and out of hospitals in Goa, Mumbai, Delhi, and New York since February last year after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Parrikar has been under the weather for around a year. However, last year, he went to the United States and undergone treatment for advanced pancreatic cancer. Manohar Parrikar spent roughly around 3 months in the US and then returned home in June last year.

Despite taking bed rest, Parrikar presented the Goa budget in the state assembly, while sitting in his chair with a nasogastric tube inserted through his nose.
