Pakistan Cricket League won’t be shown in India, decides the committee

In what turned out to be a massive blow for Pakistan, IMG Reliance on Sunday, pulled out from broadcasting the Pakistan Super League in protest against the Pulwama terror blast. This means that none of the PSL matches will be telecasted in India.

At least 44 CRPF paramilitary troopers lost their lives when a Jaish suicide bomber rammed a vehicle carrying over 350 kg of explosives into a CRPF convoy of 70 vehicles in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district, in what is considered as the deadliest attack in the last 3 decades.

The citizens, celebrities, sports stars, political leaders paid tribute to our Jawans’ lives. Even top countries like Russia, US, Israel and neighbouring countries Sri Lanka and Bangladesh condemned the dastardly attack.

“Due to unfortunate events a couple of days back which resulted in the death of Indian soldiers, IMG Reliance is pulling out with immediate effect, from offering broadcast production services for PSL. The incident that occurred is deeply regrettable,” stated a mail citing Sohaib Sheikh and Kamil Khan of Pakistan Cricket Board as per the inputs from PTI.

A senior official went on to add that IMG Reliance is only producers of the event and that Pakistan Super League will go off air unless the Pakistan Cricket Board chips in alternate production services or else they are expected to incur huge losses.

It is cognisance of the fact that the fourth edition of PSL started in Dubai on Thursday. The tournament consisting of 6 teams unlike the eight teams in IPL, is currently being held in Dubai and Sharjah before moving to Pakistan for final eight matches, including the peak clash in Karachi.
