Couples across the world are curiously waiting for Valentine’s day! Even those who haven’t got committed in a relationship earlier could possibly be ready to mingle with a special partner this time around. Well, that doesn’t change the fact that there are a record number of ‘Singles’ even now. How many times have we seen the popular hashtags of Committed and Singles? The war is still ON!
Every single time, when the couples celebrate Valentine’s day, the singles get distracted quite a bit as we’ve seen them sharing a lot of memes on their Facebook profiles just to vent their frustration out. But a guy from Ahmedabad named Prafull Billore has good news for all the singles on Valentine’s day.
Guess what will he be doing? He has already decided to celebrate Valentine’s day in a very unique way. For sure, his concept will make all the singles happy at the best scene. Yes, something is better than nothing! ‘MBA Chai Wala’ has created an event on Facebook that says that all ‘singles’ will be served free chai from 7 pm to 10 pm.
“Why should couples have all the fun? Singles need pampering too. Hence we’ll be serving free chai to singles on Valentine’s Day this year.” the cafe’s page description read
The cafe which is located in Vastrapur, Ahmedabad was started by an MBA dropout- Prafull. He has his own story as well. He failed to get into one of the top business schools of India and as a result, he decided to start his own tea stall.
However, his journey to opening tea stall didn’t come that easy! Facing a lot of flak from relatives and society, he eventually started his own business in 2017 with an initial investment of Rs 8,000. However, within a year, his sales increased drastically and he also started selling snacks with tea as well.
Speaking to Times Food, 22-year-old Prafull said adding that on Valentine’s Day, every cafe and restaurant is busy creating ideas and exclusive offers to attract couples, but nobody bats an eye on the singles. “We need to understand that there are people who are single by choice and have all the reason to celebrate the day. For the same, I thought to offer a ‘Free Chai’, to all the single men and women.”
Prafull reckons that his idea is ‘genuine’ and he hopes that people who are single will attend the event and not just for a ‘free chai’. The cafe serves around 35 varieties of chai and snacks dishes including Maggi, bun maska, bread butter, sandwich, French fries and so on.
