Getting back to the topic it should be noted that Rajinikanth’s 2.0 and Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar are the only two Indian films which are among the 53 blockbusters from across the world. 2.0, which is the costliest movie of the Indian cinema industry, made on a big budget of Rs 550 crore (approx), brought together 2 superstars of Indian cinema- Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar respectively.

2.0 is a superhero film which depicts a super intelligent AI Chitti (Rajinikanth as Robot) who fights against the supervillain (played by Akshay Kumar), who has a unique ability to control cell phones. Actress Amy Jackson portrayed the role of a domestic robot called Nila in 2.0.

Academy Award winner AR Rahman composed the music for this movie, which was produced by Lyca Productions. The 2.0 team is all set to release the film in China in May 2019. The Rajinikanth-starrer film is expected to hit about 56000 screens in the neighbouring country.

Secret Superstar is an Indian musical drama film, written and directed by Advait Chandan, and produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao. It hit the screens in 2017 and became a blockbuster hit. The film stars Zaira Wasim, Meher Vij, Raj Arjun and Aamir Khan.

The movie shows the coming-of-age story of a teenage girl who aspires to be a singer and she starts uploading videos on YouTube platform while disguising her identity with a niqab, and her relationships with her mother, father and mentor. The film deals with social issues such as feminism, gender equality and domestic violence.

Secret Superstar got 10 nominations at the 63rd Filmfare Awards, including Best Film, Best Director for Chandan, Best Actress for Wasim, and Best Supporting Actor for Khan. It also won 3 Filmfare Awards, including Best Actress (Critics) for Wasim, Best Supporting Actress for Vij, and Best Playback Singer (Female) for Meghna Mishra.

To add the fact that Secret Superstar became one of the most profitable films of all time, grossing ₹965 crore (US$130 million) worldwide on a limited budget of ₹15 crore (US$2.1 million), with a staggering 6,000% return on investment (ROI), making it the highest-grossing Indian film portraying female protagonist of all time.

Secret Superstar is the highest-grossing 2017 Hindi film and the third highest-grossing Indian film worldwide, and also the second highest-grossing Indian film overseas. In China, it is the fifth highest-grossing foreign film of this year and also the second highest-grossing non-English foreign film ever (after Dangal).
