Meet 15-yr-old girl- She cracks toughest NASA contests 3 times in a row

Many people believe that if one works hard day in day out, he or she will do well in life. But we shouldn’t attribute to that philosophy as one should believe in a mix of both hard work and smart work. On top of that, one doesn’t have to be too old or too young to touch the pinnacle of success.

One has to trust the time and process. Meet Nidhi Mayurika who has done something great which others could only dream of. She successfully cracked the toughest NASA contests not once but thrice in a row. What a remarkable achievement! Well and truly amazing!

Being a Class 9 student, the Bengaluru girl made a real case for herself as a viable bright young prospect in the school and the interesting part is she is just 15 years old. This is just enough to show that success has nothing to do with age.

This young wonder girl aspires to become a cosmologist one day. She believes that the process of betterment can go on and on in life. Since her childhood, she was always obsessed with Science as she would always take part in the science contests held at the school level.

Speaking to Edex Live about her immense passion for science, Nidhi said, “When I was in Class 5, I’d always take part in the science competitions held at the school level. Seeing my interest, my school principal told me about the NASA Ames Space Settlement Contest (ASSC).”

In 2016, when the NASA contest announced that the aspiring minds must design something on the subject of the virtual space colonies in which incomers can live inside a huge spacecraft and Nidhi gave absolutely everything after school hours on the project called ‘Saikatam’.

“Saikatam is a three-layered space colony for human settlement at Earth-Moon Lagrange Point 5 situated at 3,85,000 km. It is a space colony for humans to survive, evolve and self-sustain. The space colony is akin to Earth with life gases, artificial gravity, water, and food,” she explains.

Let’s take a moment to appreciate Nidhi for dedicating herself in this project. It’s because of the additional efforts, she was able to get the best out of herself and success followed herself. Though she still has a long way to go, her early signs are a testament to the fact that she is destined to come through with flying colours in the years to come.

The Youth wishes Nidhi for her future endeavours. Kindly share this post and appreciate her.
