PM Modi wins UN’s ‘Champions of the Earth’ award, India is proud of you

In good news, the United Nations confers the world’s highest environmental honour to India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is the first time an Indian Prime Minister made the country proud globally. He may have lots of haters but the end result speaks meaty volumes.

“Emmanuel Macron, President of France and Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, are recognized in the Policy Leadership category for their pioneering work in championing the International Solar Alliance and promoting new areas of levels of cooperation on environmental action, including Macron’s work on the Global Pact for the Environment and Modi’s unprecedented pledge to eliminate all single-use plastic in India by 2022”, the United Nations wrote in a press release.

PM Modi formed International Solar Alliance with 121 countries. Under PM Modi-led government, India’s solar power capacity has grown 8 times from 2.63 GW in 2014 to 22 GW in 2018.  Ever since PM Narendra Modi took charge at the head of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2014, India’s economy hasn’t faced deflation in this century.

It has only got better at around 7% per year. It is highly expected that India’s economy will be one-third bigger than when Modi took charge at the office. That means that there will be a huge change in the world’s largest democracy. India has attained a massive growth rate under PM Modi which is 8.2%, a growth rate that has surpassed both China (6.7%) and USA (4.2%). Since taking office in 2014, Mr. Modi has been trying to change the atmosphere around India.

It is nice to see that India is making its place in the world. PM Modi had pushed through tough economic reforms like demonetisation (rapid removal from circulation of high denomination banknotes) and GST harmonization (the start of a unified national goods and services tax) for the welfare of country’s growth.

Nobody thought that India would grow at a much quicker pace in the world following demonetization. This probably proves the opposition wrong as they claim that demonetization was an imprudent decision. The recent achievements are proof of the fact that Modi is revolutionising India at the best scene.

India doesn’t want to be just a spectator but a competitor in the world. With great recognition and power, India has all the ingredients to outgrow every single country. In the last three to four years, the vision of India has been changed and the world’s perception towards India is also changing. It’s because of the fact that India is attaining a meteoric rise and its progress is well documented.

Recent developments:

India has comprehensively outsmarted France in terms of size this year and their motive is to surpass Britain. Union Minister Arun Jaitley believes that India is destined to make giant strides and become the fifth largest economy in the world.in 2019.

“This year, in terms of size, we have overtaken France. Next year we are likely to overtake Britain. Therefore, we will be the fifth largest [economy],” he said in the national capital in New Delhi.

The Union Minister said adding that the other economies in the world were going up at a much lesser pace when compared to India that has all the ingredients to be among the top 3 economies of the world in the next one or two decades.
