Deepak Punia wins ‘Silver’ at junior world wrestling championship- nobody praised him

What else do we want from our Indian athletes? Time and time again, they are proving that they are worth the weight in gold by winning medals. Let’s take a moment to appreciate our Wrestler Deepak Punia who settled for silver in the freestyle junior world wrestling championship. He may have lost to Turkey’s Arif Ozen in the 86 kg final on Sunday but he won our hearts for coming a long way to reach the final.

Deepak surrendered at the hands of Ozen to 1-2, scoring the only point with just 3 seconds to go. Deepak added a feather to his hat when he clinched junior Asian Championships gold in the National Capital region earlier this year.

Indian athletes are going above and beyond to make the country proud and it was Deepak Punia’s turn to show that he has got the grit and determination in the world championship. We are proud to have such heroes in real life. They not just inspired us but also taught us how to fight and never give up in crucial situations.

India concluded the championship on a sensational note with six medals, with three silvers and bronze medals. The Youth salutes the athletes for giving absolutely everything for the nation. Kindly forward this article to others and make them famous and that’s the best gift that we can give to them.
