Meet Surabhi- A Village Girl Who Cracked All Exams In First Attempt To Become IAS

Dream is not the one that you see in sleep but the one that doesn’t let you sleep and it was in Class 10 that Surabhi Gautam made up her mind that she wanted to become a proud IAS officer. Since then, she started ideal preparations and tirelessly worked hard day and night.

Hailing from Amdara village in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh, Surabhi’s father is an advocate at the civil court in Maihar, Madhya Pradesh while her mother, Dr Sushila Gautam, is a teacher in Amdara’s higher secondary school. Her parents always supported their daughter through and through.

Surabhi was studious in class. She easily understood concepts taught by the teachers and much to her lofty standards of intelligence and sharpness, she came through with flying colours in her stellar academic career where she essayed a flamboyant score of 93.4 per cent in high school.

Surabhi who studied in her village school lacked basic facilities and good teachers were difficult to find. Having studied in Hindi-medium school, she found it really hard to cope with English.  She faced difficulties when she did not receive her school books on time but that didn’t stop her from touching the pinnacle of success.

After her successful schooling life, Surabhi marked her presence for the Engineering Entrance Exam. With all ingredients to her standards, she secured an excellent score and was easily eligible to take admission in a government college in any city.

She opted to pursue electronics and communication engineering from Bhopal. Once she entered college life, she sorted out her English woes as she made extra efforts to learn the language and now English is not her nightmare any more. She topped the university and also received a gold medal for her excellence.

After college, she joined Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) as a nuclear scientist for a period of 1 year. She then appeared for several exams like GATE, ISRO, SAIL, MPPSC, Delhi Police, and FCI and showcased her excellence everywhere. It was not so easy to clear those competitive exams in the first attempt but she made it look so.

She accomplished the all-India first rank in the IES exam that was held in 2013 and the all-India 50th rank in the IAS exam held in 2016 and what really makes the story interesting is that she managed to crack the big deal in her first attempt itself, which is worth applauding.

Surabhi managed to clear all the exams without coaching classes or tuitions for any subject and whatever she has accomplished in life came from her own decisive approach. She deserves much more than a certificate of excellence.

Her story is really inspiring and today, she is now an epic inspiration to the students across India. Kindly forward this story to inspire other youths of the nation.
