Meet the true richest man- Kerala beggar donates Rs.94 to CM’s relief fund

Some people are so poor financially but are certainly rich by heart. It doesn’t matter what you have in your bank account and all that matters is what you have in your heart. In a heart-touching gesture, Kerala beggar donated Rs.94 in a bid to assist the flood-hit victims. This goes to show that he is someone who is rich by heart.

The generous person, identified as Mohanan who is a resident of Poonjar in the Kottayam district of Kerala. He stepped forward to do his bit to the Chief Minister’s relief fund. Last week, he walked over 4 kilometres to meet the former municipal chairman of Erattupetta, TM Rasheed.

When Rasheed stumbled upon him, he thought that he has come for money and he offered him Rs 20 note. The man who came in the rugged clothes first sat on the steps of Rasheed’s house and then counted the coins and then told Rasheed to donate this amount on his behalf to the CM’s relief fund as he did not know how to do it by himself.

Seeing this pleasant incident, Municipal chairman Rasheed took to the Facebook account to share the incident and ensured that Mohanan’s contribution reaches the Kerala flood relief fund.

Sharing the story he wrote, “These coins. They came in search of my house to find their place in the cm’s relief fund. This former mahout counted them and left ₹94 with me before leaving.”

Speaking to a daily, Rasheed recalled the incident and said, “Holding the coins in my hand, I couldn’t help but marvel at how big his heart was, even though an injury had derailed his entire life.”

When Kerala went through the worst calamity in a century, we saw people stepping forward to give a helping hand without even caring about themselves. Several other states in India donated money, materials, food, medicines and whatsoever required for those unfortunate sufferers. From what we can come to a firm conclusion is that humanity still exists.
