DMK urges Bharat Ratna award for M Karunanidhi, passes a new resolution at Council meeting

According to the news agency ANI’s twitter handle, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has recently passed a new resolution during the party’s general council meeting that the party will persuade the union government to confer Bharat Ratna to the former party leader M Karunanidhi who drew his last breath three weeks back.

Bharat Ratna signifies the highest civilian award in India and is awarded in the identification of the excellent work. The caption on ANI’s twitter handle read, “DMK passes a resolution at party’s General Council meeting urging the Union government to confer Bharat Ratna to former Tamil Nadu M Karunanidhi.”

M.K. Stalin took charge as DMK’s new chief. Previously, the party had stressed that the award will be a huge tribute to the late Tamil Nadu leader’s brilliant and excellent work which had left a memorable mark in history. Karunanidhi was the only politician to have extended his services for a political party for 50 years.
