Proud moment: India thrash Pakistan 28-27 in Men’s Handball group game

The team coach and the fans couldn’t have asked for a better response from the team that thrashed Pakistan in the men’s Handball event in the ongoing 2018 Asiad at Jakarta. Be it any sport, the sporting carnival between India and Pakistan is so special. How many times have we seen India getting the better of Pakistan? It happens at all sporting events and this time too, it was nothing new.

The Indian handball team comprehensively outclassed the arch-rivals Pakistan 28-27 in a nerve-racking main round group 3 men’s match at the ongoing 2018 Asian Games at Jakarta on Friday. Greenidge D’Cunha was the player of India as he chipped in with nine beautiful goals with Adithya Nagaraj essaying six.

Naveen Punia and Karamjeet Singh managed to net four times each and Harender Singh scored a hat-trick. Khatkar Naveen tried his best to net a goal to his credit.

As far as Pakistan are concerned, Muzamal Hussain managed to score seven goals for his team. Muhammad Pervaiz and Hazrat Hussain follow next on the list as they score five each and Muhammad Atif scored four. Muhammad Zubair and Asim Saeed both bagged hat-tricks apiece.

Team India had 41 shots on target as compared to Pakistan’s 45 in total. But India made use of the chances to good effect and they pulled off a spectacular win from the jaws of the defeat. Now, the Indians are on the brink of posing a serious threat to the table toppers Chinese Taipei.
