Fake news: Shah Rukh Khan never donated ₹5 Cr to Kerala Flood victims, here’s the detail

Amid contributions to the victims, a new controversy sparked when Salman Nizami, a journalist claimed that Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan donated ₹5 Crores to the flood relief. The truth is Shah Rukh Khan donated ₹21 lakhs.

Salman Nizami took to his official Twitter account to praise Shah Rukh Khan for his immense contributions to Kerala. Not just that, he even uploaded a video via his YouTube channel claiming the same news.

His caption on Twitter read, “Shahrukh Khan didn’t tweet, Shahrukh Khan didn’t brag, Shahrukh Khan didn’t go to media. Shahrukh Khan donated 5 crores for Kerala flood victims- silently. Something @Paytm head shud learn- Charity is not Business, it’s a sign of humanity! We love you @iamsrk bhai!”

After this news turned out to be a fake one, many started to counterattack this journalist with proofs showing that Shah Rukh Khan donated 21 lakhs.

Then the same journalist tweeted again by confirming that Shah Rukh Khan donated 21 lakhs. “Shahrukh Khan’s office just confirmed me that his NGO has also donated 21 lakhs, many of his fans are sending the relief material to Kerala through trucks. Big salute!,” he wrote.

Shah Rukh Khan’s welfare organisation Meer Foundation has come forward to donate Rs. 21 lakhs towards relief work in flood-hit Kerala. There was no official confirmation that he donated 5 crores.
