Apple CEO Tim Cook overtaken by an Indian CEO who is getting world’s highest salary

Nikesh Arora was born on 9 February 1968 in Ghaziabad, India. He is an Indian magnate who plied his trade as the former Google executive. He later played a significant role as the president for SoftBank Group, extending his fruitful contributions for the company in October 2014 until stepping down on 21 June 2016. On 1 June, 2018 Arora became the CEO and chairman at Palo Alto Networks.

Arora has kick-started his role today and potential reports suggest that NIkesh Arora could become one of the highest paid US executives after he takes over as the Chief Executive Officer and the Chairman at Palo Alto Networks. He is in the spotlight for the whopping package worth about $128 million that he has agreed to the terms and conditions in his new job as CEO Palo Alto Networks Inc.

As far as Bloomberg is concerned, the 50-year-old Nikesh Arora is granted to shares awards worth as much as $126 million as the head of the California-based cybersecurity company. This means that he will be earning $1 million as base salary annually along with a bonus amount when the targets are met accordingly.

“The company is executing extremely well and is the clear leader in next-generation security. Over the course of several quarters, I have been discussing succession planning with the Board and I couldn’t be more pleased that we have found a leader in Nikesh who is ideally suited to take the company on the next leg of its journey,” said Mark McLaughlin as per Reuters inputs.

Mark McLaughlin steered the company for close to seven years and played a significant role in company’s growth as the shares intensified five times more since its inception in 2012. He is now appointed as the vice chairman of the Board.

Previous Experiences:

During Arora’s stint in Google, he played a substantial role serving as Vice President, Europe Operations from 2004 to 2007, President Europe, Middle East and Africa from 2007 to 2009, and President, Global Sales Operations and Business Development from 2009 to 2010. He was Senior Vice President and Chief Business Officer of Google Inc. (Google) since January 2011 until July 2014.

After resigning from Google, he began his new chapter where he served as the President and CEO of SoftBank Corp. He made his active presence count at the company where he received over $200 million in compensation over the last two years while he was at the helm of Softbank’s operations. He became the world’s highest-paid executive after receiving the pay package.
