Top 10 cleanest cities in India 2017 Survey

Clean India movement (Swatch Bharat Abhiyan) is a massive movement started by Government of India to create a clean India, which is one of the best tributes India could pay to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary in 2019 as per the plan of Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi who launched this mission on October 2nd, 2014.

 

As Per the swachh Survekshan 2017 survey which was announced by Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu with awards, top 10 cleanest cities are given below among 434 cities assessments.

10.Vadodara, Gujrat

Vadodara is the 3rd largest city in the Western Indian State of Gujrat and named as Baroda, whereas in cleanliness it has been ranked 2nd in Gujrat. Vadodara is a cultural capital of Gujrat, so there is a lot you must explore.

9.Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh

Tirupati, a city in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh is ranked 9th in cleanliness. It is considered as one of the holiest Hindu pilgrimage sites and is also selected as one of the Hundred Indian cities developed as Smart city. In 2015 survey, it was ranked at 137th position among other countries in cleanliness.

8.Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra

Navi Mumbai, is a planned township of Mumbai in Maharashtra which is divided in 2 parts: North Navi Mumbai and South Navi Mumbai. It is the most preferred choice of new immigrants from other cities or Mumbai itself. It was ranked 12th among 73 cities in 2015, whereas now it has jumped to 8th position among 434 cities.

7.New Delhi Municipal Council Area

NDMC is the new city of New Delhi. Three urban region divisions of Union Territory of Delhi are: MCD, NDMC and Delhi cantonment Board, where NDMC is one of the best planned regions of India abd ranked 7th in Swachh Survekshan 2017 survey.

6.Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu

Tiruchirapalli is a city of TamilNadu and called as Tiruchy which is 4th biggest urban settlement in state of Tamil Nadu. It has the glorious remnants of the Chola empire and has several beautiful temples and forts from the era, including the Rockfort temples and the Jambukeswara Temple. It has been ranked number 6th in Swachh Survekshan 2017 survey.

5.Mysore, Karnataka

Mysore, also named as Mysuru, is 3rd largest city of Karnataka which was recorded as the cleanest city of Karnataka, whereas this year it slipped to 5th position but it always remained in Top 5 as a promising destination for cleanliness and an attraction for travelers. This place is noted for its heritage strcutures and places, including Mysore Palace.

4.Surat, Gujrat

Surat is an economical capital and former princely state in Gujrat, which is also known as Suryapur or Sun City of Gujrat. It is a port city and is 8th largest city in India. It is now the 4th cleanest city in India and 4th fastest growing city in the world. It is famous for its diamond and textile trade.

3.Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam, which is also named a Vizag, is the largest city and Financial Capital of Andhra Pradesh, which was considered as a part of Kalinga Kingdom back in 6th century. It is the hotspot of culture and tradition of AP; it has risen itself from 5th position in 2016 survey to 3rd.

2.Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal is the capital of Madhya Pradesh which is also known as City of Lakes, for various natural as well as artificial lakes and it is also one of the greenest cities in India. It has captured 2nd rank in Swachh Survekshan 2017 survey, rising from 21st rank in 2016 survey.

1.Indore, Madhya Pradesh

Indore is the largest and most populous city of Madhya Pradesh and it was described by the Economic Times as the commercial capital of the state. It is the cleanest city in India despite of being most populous one in central India. This city has rose from 23rd rank in the survey of 2016, which is remarkable jump.
